Producers of the New York premiere of Church & State, a comedy written by Jason Odell Williams and directed by Markus Potter, have announced that the final performance at New World Stages will take place on June 4, 2017.

Previews began at off-Broadway's New World Stages on March 3, 2017, before an official opening on March 20.

Synopsis: "Church & State is a comedy about faith, politics, and 'The Twitter.' It's three days before Charlie Whitmore's Senate reelection and he's decided to finally tell the public exactly what's on his mind, no filter. What could possibly go wrong?"

The cast of Church & State includes Rob Nagle (as Senator Charles Whitmore), Nadia Bowers (as Sara Whitmore), Christa Scott-Reed (as Alex Klein) and Jonathan Louis Dent (as Tom/Marshall). Megan Sikora will assume the role of Sara Whitmore from May 26 and Andy Talen will take over the roles of Tom/Marshall from May 29.

The creative team behind Church & State features scenic design by David Goldstein, lighting design by Burke Brown, costume design by Dianne K. Graebner, and sound design by Eric T. Lawson.

Church & State is produced off-Broadway by Charlotte Cohn, Brierpatch Productions, Neil Gooding Productions and SCS Innovations, LLC, in association with NewYorkRep and The Telling Company.

This marks the off-Broadway debut for Rob Nagle, who is perhaps best known for recurring TV roles on "Eli Stone," "Lincoln Heights" and "Dawson's Creek." His film credits include "Bad Samaritan," "Mother's Day," "Boost," "Fishing Naked," "New Year's Eve," "Life As We Know It," "The Soloist," "Fun With Dick and Jane," "Cellular," and "American Wedding."
