Chicago: Bianca Marroquin & Marco Zuzino join cast

As previously announced, Mexican stage and screen actress Bianca Marroquin returns as 'Roxie Hart' from 16 Jan to 26 Feb 2012 in the Tony Award winning musical Chicago, playing at the Ambassador Theatre.

Marroquin is joined by the previously announced Latin-American star Marco Zuzino, who is making his Broadway debut starring as 'Billy Flynn' from 16 Jan - 12 Feb 2012.

Marroquin assumes the role of 'Roxie Hart' from Charlotte d'Amboise, and Zuzino assumes the role from Brent Barrett, who both played their final performance on 15 Jan 2012.

Marroquin first portrayed 'Roxie Hart' in the Mexico City production of Chicago in 2002. For that performance, she received five awards from the Mexican Critics Association, including New Revelation and Best Actress. Following the success of that production, she was then invited to crossover from Mexico City to New York City, and made her English-language debut as 'Roxie Hart' on Broadway for the first time in 2002. This will be the seventh time she has played the role on the Great White Way.

Her other Broadway credits include 'In the Heights' (Daniela) and 'The Pajama Game (Carmen).' Her regional stage credits include 'And the World Goes Round' at Barrington Stage and 'Bye Bye Birdie' at North Shore Music Theatre. She is the recipient of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actress for her performance in the National Tour of Chicago.

Zuzino is a native of Lima, Peru, who began his acting career at the age of 14, having appeared in several Latin American soap operas and television miniseries. Later, he moved to America to study at New York City's Circle in the Square Theatre School.

Upon returning to Lima, Zunino worked steadily starring in television soap operas and miniseries before starring in Latin American productions of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Jesus), 'West Side Story' (Tony), 'Rent' (Roger) and 'Cabaret' (Emcee), the latter of which earned him Peru's highest acting achievement in 2009.

Chicago now stars Bahiyah Hibah (Velma Kelly), Bianca Marroquin (Roxie Hart), Marco Zuzino (Billy Flynn), Carol Woods (Mama Morton), Chris Sullivan (Amos Hart) and R. Lowe (Mary Sunshine).

Now in its sixteenth year on the Great White Way, Chicago is the second longest-running production currently playing on Broadway, as well as Broadway's longest-running musical revival, as well as the longest-running American show in Broadway history.

The show has been playing on Broadway since 14 Nov 1996, it moved to the Ambassador Theatre on the 29 Jan 2003, where it is currently booking period through to 1 Jul 2012.
