Signature Theatre has now announced complete casting for its upcoming production of Suzan-Lori Parks' comic-drama The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, which will begin previews on 25 October 2016, before an official opening on 13 November and a limited run through to 4 December 2016.

The cast of The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World includes (in alphabetical order) William DeMeritt (Voice on Thuh Tee V), Nike Kadri (Yes and Greens Black-Eyed Peas Cornbread), Patrena Murray (Ham), Reynaldo Piniella (And Bigger and Bigger and Bigger), Julian Rozzell (Old Man River Jordan), Roslyn Ruff (Black Woman with Fried Drumstick), Mirirai Sithole (Prunes and Prisms), David Ryan Smith (Before Columbus), Daniel J. Watts (Black Man with Watermelon), Jamar Williams (Lots of Grease and Lots of Pork), and Amelia Workman (Queen-Then-Pharaoh Hatshepsut).

Synopsis: "A woman tries to feed her husband a fried drumstick. Dragons roam a flat earth. The last Black man in the whole entire world dies again. And again. Careening through memory and language, Parks explores and explodes archetypes of Black America with piercing insight and raucous comedy. A riotous theatrical event, The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World hums with the heartbeat of improvisational jazz."

The creative team behind The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World has also been announced and features scenic design by Riccardo Hernandez, costume design by Montana Blanco, lighting design by Yi Zhao, sound design by Palmer Hefferan, projection design by Hannah Wasileski, movement by Raja Feather Kelly, and wig design by Cookie Jordan.
