Thu 2 Oct 2003 "Cabaret" Cabaret delays closure now booking to 30 Nov 2003 Cabaret, which posted closing notices at Studio 54 after a run of nearly 6 years for 2 Nov 2003, has now delayed the closure and is now booking to 30 Nov 03. It is rumored that the show may extend further to Feb 2004, when it has to make way for Stephen Sondheim's musical Assassins. This Donmar Warehouse production was presented by Roundabout Theater Company at Studio 54 from 13 Feb 1998. The show has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Joe Masteroff. It is directed by Sam Mendes and choreographed by Rob Marshall. Cabaret, the Tony Award-winning revival, tells the story of an English woman's romance with an American writer set against the background of the crumbling Germany at the start of the Third Reich.
