UPDATE: 2 December

Following the news of a digital season of work taking place over the next three months, a Spring season of Spotlight on Plays has been announced. All proceeds for these events will benefit The Actors Fund, raising money for the entertainment community.

In Spring 2021, the second series will be completed by seven plays. Productions confirmed so far include The Ohio State Murders by Adrienne Kennedy, The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse, Dear Elizabeth by Sarah Ruhl, Angry, Raucous and Shamelessly Gorgeous by Pearl Cleage, Lillian Hellman's Watch On The Rhine, The Baltimore Waltz by Paula Vogel and The Sisters Rosensweig by Wendy Wasserstein.

Details on casting, creative teams and performance dates are to be announced.

The first Spotlight on Plays series begins tomorrow night, with a revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man, available from 8pm ET. The Tony Award-nominated play follows two presidential candidates as they go against each other. The production was initially billed to be performed the night before the second Presidential debate.

Casting for The Best Man includes Matthew Broderick as Sheldon Marcus, Morgan Freeman as Former President Arthur "Artie" Hockstader, John Malkovich as Secretary William Russell, Zachary Quinto as Senator Joseph Cantwell, Phylicia Rashad as Sue-Ellen Gamadge and Vanessa Williams as Alice Russell. The Best Man is directed by Michael Wilson.
