Broadway Strike - Day Sixteen: A new round of negotiations begin.

Local One Pickets

As the strike by Local One, Broadway's unionised stage hands, enters its sixteenth day, a new round of negotiations takes place between The League of American Theatres and the Union.

Late yesterday evening it was announced that The League agrees, almost at the final hour, had accepted Local One's president James J. Claffey formal request, made on 20 Nov 2007, to hold further talks on 25 Nov 2007. The statement from the League announcing further talks simply reads, "Negotiations between the League of American Theatres and Producers and Local One are scheduled to resume tomorrow Sunday, November 25, 2007."

It hard to judge how the talks today will go - when the union and the League met last weekend many were hopeful of a positive outcome, there is less expectation today.
