Between Riverside and Crazy Extends Through 23 Aug

The Atlantic Theater Company's production of Between Riverside and Crazy by Tony Award nominee Stephen Adly Guirgis has extended at the Linda Gross Theater, where it is now booking through 23 August 2014.

The production, which stars Victor Almanzar, Elizabeth Canavan, Rosal Colón, Liza Colón-Zayas, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Michael Rispoli and Ray Anthony Thomas, originally opened on 31 July, following previews from 10 July 2014.

The play opened to positive reviews, and was described as "a wonderful new play" (Newsday), and "a deliciously mounted Atlantic Theater Company production...a dizzying and exciting place to be." (New York Times).

Synopsis: City Hall is demanding more than his signature, the Landlord wants him out, the liquor store is closed -- and the Church won't leave him alone. For ex-cop & recent widower Walter "Pops" Washington and his recently paroled son Junior, when the struggle to hold on to one of the last, great rent-stabilized apartments on Riverside Drive collides with old wounds, sketchy new houseguests, and a final ultimatum, it seems the Old Days are dead and gone -- after a lifetime living between Riverside and Crazy.

Between Riverside and Crazy is directed by Austin Pendleton and features scenic design by Walt Spangler, costume design by Alexis Forte, lighting design by Keith Parham, and original music and sound design by Ryan Rumery.
