MCC Theater has now announced initial casting for the fourth and final play of its 2015-2016 Season to be staged at off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre - A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City.

Star of CBS' "2 Broke Girls" Beth Behrs will make her NY stage debut, alongside Obie winner Lisa Emery and Jacqueline Sydney, with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City marks playwright Halley Feiffer's MCC Theater debut. The comedy, directed by Trip Cullman, will begin previews on 19 May 2016, before an official opening on 7 June and a limited engagement through to 3 July 2016.

Synopsis: "In A Funny Thing..., a foul-mouthed twenty-something comedienne and a middle-aged man embroiled in a nasty divorce are brought together unexpectedly when their cancer-stricken mothers become roommates in the hospital. Together, this unlikely duo must negotiate some of life's biggest challenges... while making some of the world's most inappropriate jokes. Can these two very lost people learn to laugh through their pain and lean on each other when all they really want to do is run away?"

The creative team has also been announced and features scenic design by Lauren Helpern, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Matthews Richards, and sound design by Tony winner Darron L West.

Halley Feiffer and Trip Cullman previously worked together off-Broadway on the Atlantic Theatre Company's production of 'I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard.' Cullman also directed the MCC Theater production of 'Punk Rock.'
