Atlantic Theater Company has now announced initial casting to join Tony Award nominee Marin Ireland in the upcoming world premiere of Blue Ridge, written by Abby Rosebrock and directed by Taibi Magar, which begins previews at the Linda Gross Theater on December 12, 2018, ahead of an official opening on January 7 and a limited engagement through to January 27, 2019.

Ms. Ireland takes on the role of Alison and will be joined on stage by Kyle Beltran (as Wade), Nicole Lewis (as Grace), Kristolyn Lloyd (as Cherie), and Chris Stack (as Hern). Additional casting will be announced shortly.

Synopsis: "A progressive high-school teacher with a rage problem retaliates against her unscrupulous boss and is sentenced to six months at a church-sponsored halfway house, where she attends to everyone's recovery but her own. Set in Southern Appalachia, Blue Ridge is a pitch-dark comedy about heartbreak, hell-raising and healing."

The creative team behind Blue Ridge features scenic design by Adam Rigg, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Amith Chandrashaker, and sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman.

Marin Ireland earned a Tony Award nomination in 2009 for her Broadway debut in Reasons To Be Pretty. Other Broadway credits include After Miss Julie and The Big Knife. She was most recently seen off-Broadway in Classic Stage Company's revival of Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke this past spring. Her screen credits include "Hell or High Water," "Glass Chin," and "Homeland".
