Asuncion extends by three weeks to 18 Dec 2011
Rattlestick Playwrights world premiere production of Asuncion, written by Academy Award-nominee ("The Social Network") Jesse Eisenberg,extends its run by three weeks and will now play through to 18 Dec 2011.
Asuncion opened at Cherry Lane Theatre on 27 Oct 2011, following previews from 12 Oct 2011, and was originallyu scheduled to close on 27 Nov 2011.
The play opened to mixed reviews: This is a great show. (newyorktheatreguide); Not as funny as it should be (NY Post) Funny and insightful character study (Back Stage) A modest four-character comedy (Newsroom Jersey).
Directed by Kip Fagan, Asuncion star Jesse Eisenberg and also features Remy Auberjonois, Justin Bartha and Camille Mana.
Edgar and Vinny are not racist. In fact, Edgar (Jesse Eisenberg) maintains a blog condemning American imperialism and Vinny (Justin Bartha) is three-quarters into a PhD in Black Studies. When a young Filipina woman named Asuncion (Camille Mana) becomes their new roommate, the pair have a perfect opportunity to demonstrate how open minded they truly are.
