The Atlantic Theater Company has announced a 2-week extension for its current New York premiere of Animal, written by Clare Lizzimore and directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch.

Previews began at Atlantic Stage 2 on May 24, with an official opening scheduled for June 6 and a limited engagement now through to July 2, 2017 (instead of June 18).

Synopsis: "Rachel has it all: marriage, house, career. So why does she suddenly have this creeping feeling? Did she leave something behind? Or is there something in the walls...? Her husband thinks she needs time; her psychiatrist suggests positive thinking. But then the visions start. A darkly comic play about the underside of domesticity, the complexity of the brain in chaos, and the thin line between sinking and survival."

The cast of Animal includes Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall (as Rachel), alongside (in alphabetical order) Kristin Griffith (Old Woman), Greg Keller (Stephen), David Pegram (Dan), Morgan Spector (Tom) and Fina Strazza (Little Girl).

The creative team behind Animal features scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Sarah J. Holden, lighting design by Bradley King, sound design by Stowe Nelson, and original music by Daniel Kluger.

This is the final production of Atlantic's 2016-2017 season at Atlantic Stage 2. The final production of this season at Atlantic's larger venue of the Tony Kiser Theatre - Derren Brown: Secret - will play its final performance on June 25, 2017.
