American Hero extends performances through 15 Jun

The off-Broadway production of American Hero by Bess Wohl has announced that it has extended performances at the Second Stage Theatre by a week due to popular demand. The play, which is currently in previews, will now run through 15 June 2014.

The production opens officially on Thursday 22 May 2014, following previews from 12 May. It is presented at Second Stage Theatre's uptown home, the McGinn/Cazale Theatre and features direction by Leigh Silverman. The cast includes Jerry O'Conell, Ari Graynor, Erin Wilhelmi and Daoud Heidami .

"Set in a toasted subs franchise in the local mall, three up and coming "sandwich artists" -- a teenager, a single mom, and a downsized refugee from corporate banking -- are perfecting the mustard to cheese ratio according to the company manual. But when their shot at the American dream is interrupted by a series of strange events, they become unlikely allies in a post-recession world."

American Hero features scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costumes by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Jill BC Du Boff.
