Signature Theatre has announced initial casting for its upcoming production of The Young Man from Atlanta, written by Horton Foote and directed by Michael Wilson.

The cast will be led by Devon Abner (as Ted Cleveland Jr.), Dan Bittner (as Tom Jackson), Pat Bowie (as Etta Doris), two-time Tony Award nominee Kristine Nielsen (as Lily Dale), Jon Orsini (as Carson), Larry Pine (as Pete Davenport), and two-time Emmy Award nominee Aidan Quinn (as Will Kidder). Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

The Young Man from Atlanta begins previews at the Irene Diamond Stage within the Pershing Square Signature Center on November 5, 2019, ahead of an official opening on November 24 and a limited run through December 8, 2019.

Synopsis: "Danger waits just underneath the surface in Horton Foote's powerful, Pulitzer Prize-winning drama of an aging couple still reeling from the death of their only child. Set against the backdrop of a rapidly modernizing 1950s Houston, the Kidder family's lives are turned upside down once again when a figure from their son's past shows up in town. They deny, deflect and deceive in an effort to avoid the danger but can't avoid the inevitable reckoning. How far will these grieving parents go to avoid the truths this young man from Atlanta might reveal? The Young Man from Atlanta is a beautiful, heartbreaking play that explores and dissects the American dream while revealing the depths we go to in order to keep ourselves safe."

The newly announced creative team also features scenic design by Jeff Cowie, costume design by Van Broughton Ramsey, lighting design by David Lander, and sound design & original music.by John Gromada.

Tickets will be on sale soon.
