Wed 26 Nov 2003 "A Midsummer Night's Dream"at WorkShop Theater Company from 4 Dec 2003 WorkShop Theater Company presnts A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, from 4 to 20 Dec 2003 at Workshop Theatre (Main Stage), 312 West 36th Street (Off Broadway). The play will feature Charles E. Gerber (Nick Bottom), Jennifer Jiles (Titania), Mark Geller (Puck) It is directed & designed by Carol Bennett Gerber Set in contemporary NYC at Christmastime, Oberon, Santa for the enormous ATHENS' DEPT. STORE, happens to be the real guy himself, with a full coterie of elves and fairies from his workshop up North who bring KRINGLELAND to life after hours. He's having marital squabbles with Mrs. Titania Claus over an adopted homeless child from India. She's a super shopper, bored with his holiday schedule, and wants to be taken dancing more often - especially to the upcoming wedding ceremonies of ATHENS CEO R. H. Theseus and the world famous designer Henrietta Hippolyta, whom Theseus just absorbed in a hostile business takeover, but are now amorously amiable. Caught in their crossfire are Nick Bottom, a weaver selling his afghans on consignment: AFGHANS BY NICK-THE BOTTOM LINE- who is the leading player in a band of amateur thespians hoping to get a substantial Christmas bonus from their boss for playing at his wedding that old favorite, 'Pyramus and Thisby, very tragical mirth!'
