Synopsis: NEVER GONNA DANCE, a new Broadway musical based on the RKO motion picture 'Swing Time'. Tells the story of John 'Lucky' Garnett , a professional dancer, who comes to New York in order to prove his worth to his fiancee's father by attempting to earn $25,000 by any means except dancing. Inspired by the energy and rhythms of the city, he of course can't keep still, and goes on to dance his way through hilarious adventures with his fine new romance, the dance teacher, Penny Carroll.

What the critics had to say.....
BEN BRENTLEY of the NEW YORK TIMES says An inoffensive, gracefully danced and pleasantly sung diversion. CLIVE BARNES of NEW YORK POST says The show so often misses gear. HOWARD KISSEL of NEW YORK DAILY NEWS says Jerry Mitchell's choreography is full of energy and lightness. ELYSA GARDNER of USA TODAY says Not all of the jokes fly, just as some of the singing falls flat, literally and figuratively. GORDON COX of NEWSDAY says "Traffics in the sort of corniness that's kind of sweet when it works, or just limp when it doesn't." MICHAEL KUCHWARA of ASSOCIATED PRESS says "Dawdles too much of the time.."
