'Winnie the Pooh: The New Musical Stage Adaptation' to return off Broadway in summer 2022

The show will play its original venue, Theatre Row.

This news is sweet as honey! Just under a month after closing off Broadway, Winnie the Pooh: The New Musical Stage Adaptation has announced a return to Theatre Row in summer 2022. The six-week limited engagement will begin on June 18 at Theatre Row's Hundred Acre Theatre.

The hourlong Disney musical, based on the characters from the Winnie the Pooh books and movies follows Pooh, Christopher Robin, and all their friends through an original story set in the Hundred Acre Wood. Throughout the show, they find ways to enjoy all four seasons with each other, such as rescuing a runaway kite on an autumn day and meeting a snowwoman in a winter wonderland.

The Winnie the Pooh musical includes songs from the Disney Winnie the Pooh films written by Robert and Richard Sherman, including "Winnie the Pooh," "The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers," and "A Rather Blustery Day," in addition to an original score by Nate Edmondson. The creative team also includes set designers Jack Golden and Joshua Warner, lighting designer Jamie Roderick, costume designer Lindsay McWilliams, and puppets built by Matthew Lish and Rockefeller Productions.

Winnie the Pooh previously ran in New York from October 2021 to January 2022. The five-star New York Theatre Guide review reads, "Happily, with Winnie the Pooh, Disney has finally committed itself to theatre for all; whether they are children, people living with stimulation limitations, or individuals simply desiring a joyful time."
