The Rivalry at the Irish Repertory Theatre



The Irish Repertory Theatre in association with the Vincent Dowling Theatre Company presents The Rivalry, by Norman Corwin, playing at the Irish Repertory Theatre from 15 May - 5 Jul 2009.

The Rivalry: In 1858, two extraordinary men shared a podium to debate issues that would rock the world. Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas, the nation's most charismatic orators, tackled these historic debates with a fervor and an energy which hypnotized the nation.

Directed by Vincent Dowling, The Rivalry, features Christian Kauffmann as 'Abraham Lincoln,' Peter Cormican as 'Stephen Douglas,' Mary Linda Rapelye as 'Adele Douglas' and Doug Stender as the 'Republican Committeeman.'

The creative team featires Eugene D. Warner (sets), Rosi Zingales (costumes), Brian Nason (lighting) and Zachary Williamson (sound)
