'The Minutes' to continue mandatory audience masking for remaining Broadway performances

The show runs through July 24.

All audiences attending town council meetings in Big Cherry — that is, Broadway performances of The Minutes — will still be required to wear masks in the theatre for the rest of the show's Broadway run. This announcement comes after the Broadway League made audience masking optional at Broadway theatres beginning July 1.

One other show will also continue mandatory masking: American Buffalo, which runs through July 10. The Minutes runs at Studio 54 through July 24. Learn more about all Broadway shows' most updated masking policies.

Best Play Tony nominee The Minutes, by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts, takes place at a council meeting, where a newcomer asks seemingly innocent questions that end up unearthing the town's secret, bloody history. Letts himself stars as the town's mayor alongside Jessie Mueller, Noah Reid, Austin Pendleton, Blair Brown, and more.
