Vineyard Theatre has announced a 1-week extension for its eagerly anticipated world premiere of The Beast in the Jungle - a new musical by the creative minds behind The Scottsboro Boys, features music & lyrics by four-time Tony Award winner John Kander, a book by Tony Award nominee David Thompson and direction & choreography by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. The Beast in the Jungle begins previews off-Broadway on May 4, 2018, ahead of an official opening on May 23, and a limited engagement now through to June 17, 2018 (instead of June 10).
Synopsis: "Adapted from Henry James’ classic 1903 novella, The Beast in the Jungle is the story of John Marcher, a man haunted by personal demons, whose great yet unfulfilled love affair with an unforgettable woman spans decades and continents. With a waltz-inspired instrumental score, and dazzling choreography that traverses the worlds of ballet and contemporary dance, this powerful and romantic tale of love and loss reunites the remarkable creative team behind The Vineyard’s acclaimed The Scottsboro Boys."

Bougere, Irina Dvorovenko, a former American Ballet Theatre principal dancer, Tony Award nominee Peter Friedman, Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck, Maira Barriga, Elizabeth Dugas, Leah Hofmann, Naomi Kakuk, Brittany Marcin Maschmeyer, and Erin Moore.
