Signature Theatre has now announced casting and creative team for the World Premiere of new drama The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek, written and directed by Tony recipient Athol Fugard, at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre. Previews will begin on 21 April 2015, before an official opening on 11 May and a limited run through to 31 May 2015.

The cast of The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek includes Bianca Amato as Elmarie, Leon Addison Brown as Nukain, Caleb McLaughlin as Bokkie, and Tony Award nominee Sahr Ngaujah as Jonathan.

Synopsis: "A new play inspired by the life of South African outsider artist Nukain Mabusa. Aging farm laborer Nukain has spent his life transforming the rocks at Revolver Creek into a vibrant garden of painted flowers. Now, the final unpainted rock, as well as his young companion Bokkie, has forced Nukain to confront his legacy as a painter, a person and a black man in 1980s South Africa. When the landowner's wife arrives with demands about the painting, the profound rifts of a country hurtling toward the end of apartheid are laid bare."

The creative team for The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek features scenic design by Christopher H. Barreca, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Stephen Strawbridge, sound design by Stowe Nelson, and dialect coaching by Barbara Rubin.

Playwright: Athol Fugard is a Tony Award winning playwright whose many Broadway credits include 'The Road to Mecca' (2012), '"Master Harold"...and the Boys' (1982/2003), 'Blood Knot' (1985) in which he also starred as 'Morris', and 'A Lesson from Aloes' (1980). His many Off-Broadway credits include the Obie and Lucille Lortel Award-winning play 'Boesman and Lena'.
