Second Stage Theater has announced a final off-Broadway production for its current 40th Anniversary Season with the New York premiere of Make Believe, written by Drama Desk Award recipient Bess Wohl and directed by four-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif.

Performances are expected to begin at 2ST's Tony Kiser Theater in early August 2019 with an official opening in late August. Specific dates, along with casting and creative team information, will be announced in due course.

Synopsis: "When does real life collide with make believe? For the four Conlee kids, ages 5 to 10, playing house is no longer a game when their parents inexplicably disappear. Thirty-two years later, their search for answers continues. Make Believe offers a look inside the minds of children, their parents and the mysteries of childhood that haunt us forever."

Bess Wohl will also be represented off-Broadway this spring with Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Continuity, directed by Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin, at New York City Center from May 7 through to June 19, 2019. Her previous off-Broadway credits include Small Mouth SoundsPretty Filthy, and American Hero (which was staged by Second Stage Uptown in 2014).

Michael Greif has previously collaborated with Second Stage on such celebrated productions as Next to Normal, Boys' Life, A Parallelogram, and Dear Evan Hansen.

Second Stage's current season also includes the upcoming world premiere musical Superhero from January 31 and a new production of Christopher Shinn's Pulitzer Prize finalist drama Dying City from May 2019.
