Roundabout season includes Fosse's Dancin'

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced three productions as part of the 2011-2012 season. On Broadway: Bob Fosse's Dancin', directed by Graciela Daniele, and Off-Broadway: Sons of the Prophet by Stephen Karam, directed by Peter DuBois, and Look Back in Anger by John Osborne, directed by Sam Gold.

 

A new Broadway production of Bob Fosse's Dancin', directed by Graciela Daniele. Performances will begin at Studio 54 in the fall of 2011.

This is the first production of Dancin' since the original 1978 production. Bob Fosse's original choreography will be recreated on the stage of Studio 54. Creative consultation will be provided by Nicole Fosse (Bob Fosse's daughter). Cast members and the design team will be announced shortly.

Bob Fosse's Dancin' is a tribute to the art of movement by legendary choreography by Bob Fosse, and features a score of jazz, classical and pop songs!

Fosse is believed to be one of the greatest and most influential figures in dance and theatre history, with works including 'Cabaret,' 'Chicago,' 'Sweet Charity' and 'Pippin,' as well as the recipient of two Tony Awards, three Emmys and an Academy Award.

Off-Broadway the Roundabout will present Sons of the Prophet, the New York premiere of Stephen Karam's comedy about a Lebanese family in PA in crisis. But as they deal with crazy bosses, medical mysteries, and the end of the family line, they never lose their unbreakable sense of humor.

Sons of the Prophet was commissioned by Roundabout Theatre Company. In April 2011, it will have its world premiere at Huntington Theatre Company, Boston, directed by Peter DuBois (Artistic Director) by special arrangement with Roundabout.

The 2011 fall Roundabout production will be produced in association with the Huntington Theatre Company.

Playwright Stephen Karam is the author of 'Speech & Debate,' the first production from the Roundabout Underground. Cast members and the design team will be announced shortly.

A new production of Look Back in Anger by John Osborne, beginning performances Off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre in the wWinter of 2012

Look Back in Anger is about four people struggling to live together and love each other in 1950s England. Cast members and the design team will be announced shortly.

Director Sam Gold is a Roundabout Theatre Company Associate Artist and recently staged 'Tigers Be Still' at Roundabout Underground.
