Four-time Tony Award nominee Raúl Esparza is set to return to the New York stage and take on the title role of the previously announced revival of Bertolt Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, which begins previews at off-Broadway's Classic Stage Company on October 30, 2018, ahead of an official opening on November 14 and a limited engagement through to December 22, 2018.

Mr. Esparza made his Broadway debut as Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show in 2000 and earned Tony Award nominations for his performances in Taboo (2004), Company (2007), The Homecoming (2008), and Speed-the-Plow (2009). He is perhaps best known for his TV role as Rafael Barba on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".

Classic Stage Company's Artistic Director John Doyle helms the new production of Brecht's The Resistible Rise of Artuto Ui, translated by George Tabori.

Synopsis: "In 1930s Chicago, mobster Arturo Ui will stop at nothing to control the cauliflower trade. Terror and bloodshed follow. Can anyone stop him? Brecht's skewering of Adolf Hitler and totalitarianism is given renewed significance in a new Classic Stage Company production. Written in 1941, the play was one of the Berliner Ensemble's greatest box office successes."

Additional casting and creative team information will be announced at a later date.
