Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles resumes performances

As previously announced, RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles on Broadway, re-opens at the Brooks Atkinson theatre on 8 Feb 2011 for an extended run on Broadway after a 13 week engagement at the Neil Simon Theatre.

RAIN: A Tribute to The Beatles on Broadway opened at the Neil Simon Theatre on 26 Oct 2011, following previews from 19 Oct, for what was initially announced to be a twleve week limited engagement that was scheduled to end on 2 Jan 2011.

The show opened to mixed reviews : An imitation is still an imitation (NY Daily News); All the charm of a sculpture grouping at Mme. Tussauds" (Bloomberg); May not be theatre but it sure is entertaining (NY1); A streamlined concert that will not disappoint the faithful (Variety).

RAIN performs the full range of The Beatles' discography live onstage, including songs that The Beatles recorded in the studio but never performed for an audience. From the early days of their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 through Sgt. Pepper and on to the Abbey Road years, RAIN performs it all.

Press notes read: "The multi-media concert recaptures the era through all phases of The Beatles astounding musical career including Shea Stadium, the psychedelic late 60s and The Beatles long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. A fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials lights up video screens and live cameras zoom in for close-ups."

RAIN performs such beloved songs as "I Want To Hold Your Hand," "Hard Day's Night," "Yesterday," "Twist and Shout," "With A Little Help From My friends," "Eleanor Rigby," "Strawberry Fields," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Hey Jude," "When I'm 64," "I Am The Walrus," "Revolution," "Come Together" and much more from their repertoire of over 200 Beatlemaniac favorites.

The musical is performed by its creators, Joey Curatolo as 'Paul McCartney' (vocals, bass, guitar, piano), Joe Bithorn as 'George Harrison' (vocals, lead guitar, guitar synthesizer), Ralph Castelli as 'Ringo Starr' (vocals, drums, percussion), Steve Landes as 'John Lennon' (vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica) - all of whom performed in the Broadway and touring productions of 'Beatlemania' - and Mark Lewis (RAIN's co-founding member, keyboards, percussion).

In addition to members of the original RAIN band, at certain performances the concert will also feature the talents of Graham Alexander, Mark Beyer, Joe Bologna, Doug Cox, Jim Irizarry, David Leon, Jimmy Pou, Mac Ruffing and Tom Teeley.

RAIN is presented on Broadway by Annerin Productions, Magic Arts & Entertainment/Tix Productions and Nederlander Presentations, Inc.
