Good news for fans of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick: new dates have now been officially confirmed for the Broadway revival of Neil Simon's comedy Plaza Suite.

The real-life married couple was set to star in the much anticipated production at Broadway's Hudson Theatre from March 13 through July 12, 2020, with an official opening scheduled for April 13. Producers have now announced that the limited engagement will now run at the same venue from March 19 through July 18, 2021. An official opening night is still to be determined.

Broderick and Parker have released the following joint statement: "We remain deeply committed to bringing Neil Simon's Plaza Suite to New York as promised and cannot wait to help welcome audiences back to our beloved Broadway. Until then, everybody please stay safe."

The couple starred in a sold-out pre-Broadway run at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston from February 5 through February 22, 2020. The current Broadway shutdown was enforced on March 12, 2020 — one day before previews were scheduled to begin on Broadway.

Plaza Suite, which first opened on Broadway in 1968, will see Broderick and Parker play three different couples in a comedic look at love and marriage. The play is composed of three acts, each profiling a different couple staying at Suite 719 of the Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue, with each couple being played by the same actors.

The production will mark the first time the real-life married couple have shared a stage since the 1995 Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and the first time Matthew Broderick has starred in a Neil Simon play since creating the role of Eugene Jerome in Brighton Beach Memoirs.

Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey is still on board to direct the production, which will also feature original music by Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman, scenic design by two-time Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty, Tony Award winner costume design by Jane Greenwood, five-time Tony Award winner lighting design by Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Tony Award winner Scott Lehrer.

Plaza Suite is produced on Broadway by Ambassador Theatre Group, Gavin Kalin Productions, and Hal Luftig.

Plaza Suite Tickets for the rescheduled dates will be on sale soon.
