After a world premiere in London, the film adaptation of One Night in Miami is now available. Based on Kemp Power's debut play, the movie is now streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime, following release in select cinemas in December 2020.

Set during the Civil Rights Movement, One Night in Miami sees influential figures come together for a fictional meeting. Cassius Clay celebrates the world heavyweight boxing title with Malcolm X, Sam Cooke and Jim Brown for company, but as they reflect on political situations, they aim to define a new world.

The cast includes Leslie Odom Jr. as Sam Cooke, best known for originating the role of Aaron Burr in Hamilton. Kingsley Ben-Adir plays Malcolm X, with Eli Goree as Cassius Clay and Aldis Hodge as Jim Brown.

One Night in Miami made its world premiere at London's Donmar Warehouse in October 2016. In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, "A lot can happen in one evening, as Kemp Powers' play suggests, drawing on real events that fictionalise conversations between a number of famous faces barred up in a hotel room on a winter's night in 1964...whilst it offered an engaging character study it didn't progress its ideas forward enough with enough force to really land a knockout punch."
