Manhattan Theatre Club has announced that its upcoming American premiere of The London Theatre Company production of My Name is Lucy Barton is now set to begin preview performances earlier than expected. The Broadway run will now commence at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on January 4, 2020 (instead of the previously announced January 6), ahead of an official opening on January 15, and will conclude on February 29, 2020.

The production marks the Broadway return of four-time Emmy Award winner, two-time Golden Globe winner, three-time Oscar nominee and four-time Tony Award nominee Laura Linney in the titular role.

Synopsis: "Laura Linney returns to Broadway in a haunting new solo play adapted by Rona Munro from the bestselling novel by Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Strout. Linney plays Lucy Barton, a woman who wakes after an operation to find - much to her surprise - her mother at the foot of her bed. They haven't seen each other in years. During their days-long visit, Lucy tries to understand her past, works to come to terms with her family, and begins to find herself as a writer."

Five-time Olivier Award winner Richard Eyre is set to direct the production which will also feature scenic & costume design by Bob Crowley, lighting design by Peter Mumford, sound design by John Leonard, and projection design by Luke Halls.
