The Off-Broadway institution MCC Theater has announced the productions in its upcoming 2022-23 season. The season runs from October to May and includes four professional productions, in addition to the return of MCC's annual youth company production, Uncensored.

A world-premiere musical, Only Gold, kicks off the season in October. Three-time Tony-winning Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler directs and choreographs the production; he also co-wrote the book with Ted Malawer. British pop star Kate Nash provides the music for this "theatrical dance musical" about a royal family whose arrival in Paris forces the citizens of all social classes to examine their choices, test their loyalties, and follow their hearts.

Next up, in January 2023, is Soho Rep and Ma-Yi Theater Company's production of Wolf Play, which sold out its first Off-Broadway run at Soho Rep earlier this year. The play centers on a South Korean boy adopted by an American family, who soon decide they can't handle him and find him a new family on an online message board. This play is about family and survival told through the eyes of a one young boy (represented by a puppet) dealing with one separation after another. The play is by Hansol Jung, and Dustin Wills directs.

In May 2023 is Bees and Honey, a world-premiere play written by Guadalís Del Carmen and directed by Melissa Crespo. The show follows the marriage of Manuel and Johaira, who are faced with the question of whether love is enough to keep their relationship alive as they enter new, challenging chapters in their lives.

MCC Theater's fourth production is Wet Brain, a co-production with Playwrights Horizons. Wills also directs this play by John J. Caswell, Jr. about a family whose patriarch's alcoholism has hardened and haunted them. They try to find the words to express their feelings of loss and find closure, but this play also includes unexpected humor and profundity in the fact that the father thinks he's being abducted by aliens. The show will go up at Playwrights Horizons in May 2023.

Also in the spring 2023 season is Uncensored, presented by the MCC Theater Youth Company. The annual production features a collection of student-written scenes, monologues, and ensemble pieces about their experiences living in today's world.

Casting and additional creative team for these productions have yet to be announced.
