MCC Theater has now announced casting for its eagerly anticipated, previously announced, world premiere musical Alice By Heart, which is set to play a limited engagement at the company's new home of The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space from January 30 through to March 10, 2019, with an official opening set for February 26. The musical marks MCC's inaugural production at The Newman Mills Theater.

Molly Gordon and Colton Ryan will star as Alice and Alfred / The White Rabbit, respectively, alongside Mia DiLena, Zachary Downer, Noah Galvin, Zachary Infante, Andrew Kober, Grace McLean, Nkeki Obi-Melekwe, Catherine Ricafort, Heath Saunders, and Wesley Taylor.

Alice By Heart features music by Duncan Sheik, lyrics by Steven Sater and a book by Sater and Jessie Nelson, who also directs.

Synopsis: "When the madness of the world is too much to bear, we take refuge in the stories we love. In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer's budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to wonderland. As they travel through the tale, Alice By Heart explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward. Inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, this world premiere musical encourages us all to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times."

The creative team features choreography by Rick & Jeff Kuperman, music direction & vocal arrangements by Jason Hart, orchestrations by Duncan Sheik, additional orchestrations by Simon Hale, scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Bradley King, sound design by Dan Moses Schreier, and hair, wig & makeup design by J. Jared Janas.
