The non-profit Vineyard Theatre has announced further details for the previously announced inaugural production of its 2018-2019 off-Broadway season, including initial casting, dates and creative team information.

In association with Audible, Vineyard Theatre presents the New York premiere of Good Grief, written by Ngozi Anyanwu and directed by Awoye Timpo, which begins performances on October 11, 2018, ahead of an official opening on October 30 and a limited engagement through to November 18, 2018.

The cast of Good Grief includes playwright Ngozi Anyanwu (as Nkechi), Nnamdi Asomugha (as Bro), Patrice Johnson Chevannes (as NeNe), Hunter Parrish (as JD), Ian Quinlan (as MJ), with additional casting to be announced shortly.

Synopsis: "Nkechi was a good Nigerian-American girl. She did everything right. Went to med school. Made plans. Then life happened. And plans changed. A first-generation coming-of-age journey of love, loss, and growing into adulthood, Good Grief follows Nkechi as she navigates Pennsylvania's suburbs alongside her childhood crush, her would-be-philosopher brother, and her immigrant parents."

The creative team behind Good Grief features scenic design by Jason Ardizzone-West, costume design by Andy Jean, lighting design by Oona Curley, and sound design by Daniel Kluger.

Good Grief previously staged its world premiere in Los Angeles at Center Theatre Group. Audible is set to record the New York production, which will then be available as an audio play.

Vineyard's 2018-2019 season also includes the world premiere of Jeremy O. Harris' new play "Daddy", directed by Danya Taymor and starring 2-time Golden Globe nominee and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming. Co-produced with The New Group, performances will begin in winter 2019 at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The final production of the season will be the New York premiere of Mara Nelson-Greenberg's Do You Feel Anger?, directed by Margot Bordelon, which is expected to begin performances in spring 2019.
