They're going to be in the room where it happens... Producer Jeffrey Seller has announced a casting update for Lin-Manuel Miranda's juggernaut musical Hamilton, which continues to play to packed houses at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

Wallace Smith has joined the Broadway cast, assuming the roles of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison from J. Quinton Johnson (who will next be seen on the Great White Way in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming Broadway premiere of Choir Boy). In addition, Tony Award nominee Denée Benton and Carvens Lissaint are set to join the Broadway company from October 30, 2018, stepping into the roles of Eliza Hamilton and George Washington, respectively. Lexi Lawson and Bryan Terrell Clark will play their final performances in the role on October 28.

The principal cast of Hamilton currently includes Michael Luwoye (as Alexander Hamilton), Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker (as Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (as Eliza Hamilton), Mandy Gonzalez (as Angelica Schuyler), Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart (as Marques de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Bryan Terrell Clark (as George Washington), Anthony Lee Medina (as John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton), Wallace Smith (as James Madison/Hercules Mulligan), Joanna A. Jones (as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), and Tony Award nominee Euan Morton (as King George).

The Broadway production of Hamilton officially opened on August 6, 2015, following previews from July 13.

Hamilton features a book, music, and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize and three-time Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow.

Synopsis: "Hamilton is a new musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, Hamilton is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become."

Under the direction of Thomas Kail, the creative team features music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

Hamilton is produced on Broadway by the Public Theater, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman.

Hamilton Tickets are available now for performances through to May 19, 2019.
