Could this be a never-ending story? Gaten Matarazzo, known for starring in Netflix's Stranger Things, will return to Broadway this summer. He will join the cast of Dear Evan Hansen in his first Broadway role since 2014.

Matarazzo will play Jared Kleinman beginning July 19, replacing current cast member Jared Goldsmith. Matarazzo made his Broadway debut in 2011 in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (alongside current Dear Evan Hansen cast member Jessica Phillips), and later performed in Godspell in 2013 and Les Misérables in 2014.

"This show has taught me so much about myself and to be able to participate in any capacity, let alone on Broadway, makes me want to melt," Matarazzo said in a statement. "I am ecstatic to be back on stage and eternally grateful for the opportunity."

In addition to Matarazzo, three additional new cast members will join Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway on the 19th. Ann Sanders will return as Cynthia Murphy, and Noah Kieserman and Ciara Alyse Harris will reprise their roles from the North American tour as Connor Murphy and Alana Beck, respectively. They will replace Christiane Noll, David Jeffery, and Phoebe Koyabe in the cast, respectively.

Dear Evan Hansen centers on a socially anxious teenager who unwittingly gets wrapped up in a school tragedy, but also finds his voice and starts a movement to show that no one is alone. The show has played the Music Box Theatre since 2016 and won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in 2017.
