'Flying Over Sunset' announces digital lottery and student rush tickets for Broadway run
The new musical begins performances November 11.
What better excuse to take a trip (to the theatre, that is)? The new musical Flying Over Sunset will offer a digital lottery for $40 tickets and a student rush program for $32 tickets, beginning with the show's first performance on November 11. Flying Over Sunset, presented by Lincoln Center Theater, opens December 13 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
The digital lottery will open for entries between midnight and 3 p.m. the day before each performance. Winners will then be notified and can pick up their tickets at the box office when they arrive to the next day's performance. Each person can enter the lottery once per day and can request up to two tickets.
In addition, student rush tickets will be available at the box office two hours before each performance. Tickets are subject to availability, and not all performances may offer them. These are limited to one ticket per performance. $32 tickets will also be available through LCT's LincTix program for patrons 21-35 years old.
Flying Over Sunset is a new musical comedy that centers on three historical figures: writer Aldous Huxley; playwright, diplomat, and congresswoman Clare Boothe Luce; and actor Cary Grant, all of whom are known to have experimented with LSD in the 1950s. The musical stages what their experience may have been like and imagines one fictional night in Malibu where all three go on an acid trip together. The musical features a book by James Lapine, who also directs; music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie.
