Casting announced for Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine at Signature Theatre

Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine is set for an official opening off-Broadway on December 10, 2018.

Signature Theatre has announced casting for Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, the production is the first in the theatre's 2018-2019 off-Broadway season.

Fabulation, or The Re-Edication of Undine will run at the Pershing Square Signature Center's Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre from November 19 through to December 30, 2018, with an official opening on December 10.

Marcus Callender will star in the production, with previous credits including the smash-hit television series "Power " as well as featuring in the 2015 film "Straight Outta Compton". His theatre credits include Uncensored and On The Fly at the MCC Youth Theatre Company.

Nikiya Mathis is also in the cast, after performing in recent Off-Broadway productions of Skeleton Crew and Milk Like Sugar. 

Joining Mr. Callender and Ms. Mathis will be Mayaa Boateng, Cherise Boothe, J. Bernard Calloway, Dashiell Eaves and Heather Alicia Simms.

Synopsis: "This satirical tale set in New York City follows successful African-American publicist Undine, as she stumbles down the social ladder after her husband steals her hard-earned fortune. Broke and now pregnant, Undine is forced to return to her childhood home in the Brooklyn projects, where she must face the challenges of the life she left behind. Fabulation, or The Re-Edication of Undine reveals how difficult it is to outrun where we come from."

The creative team features scenic design by Adam Levi, lighting by Yi Zhao, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco and sound design by Palmer Hefferan.

Fabulation, or The Re-Edication of Undine Tickets are available now for performances from November 19 through to December 30, 2018.
