Carmen Cusack to star in Encores! Call Me Madam at New York City Center

Call Me Madam runs from February 6 to 10, 2019 on New York City Center's Mainstage.

Tony Award nominee Carmen Cusack has been cast in the role of Ambassador Sally Adams in the upcoming Encores! production of Call Me Madam as part of New York City Center's 75th Anniversary Season. The production is scheduled to run on City Center's Mainstage from February 6 to 10, 2019.

Ms. Cusack earned a Tony Award nomination in 2016 for her starring turn as Alice Murphy in Bright Star, which she also reprised in the show's National Tour. Other selected stage credits include the National Tours of South Pacific and Wicked, the West End productions of Les Misérables and The Secret Garden, the UK tour of The Phantom of the Opera, and the off-Broadway revival of Carrie: The Musical.

Additional casting includes Ben Davis (as Cosmo Constantine), Adam Heller (as Congressman Wilkins), Carol Kane (as Grand Dutchess Sophie), Stanley Wayne Mathis (as Senator Borckbank), Brad Oscar (as Senator Gallagher), Michael Benjamin Washington (as Pemberton Maxwell), and Lauren Worsham (as Princess Maria).

Casting for the roles of Kenneth Gibson, Sebastian Sebastian, and Grand Duke Otto will be announced shortly.

The ensemble features Florrie Bagel, Daniel Berryman, Taeler Elyse Cyrus, Leslie Flesner, Ta'Nika Gibson, Christopher Gurr, Leah Horowitz, Javier Ignacio, Max Kumangai, Matt Loehr, Brandt Martinez, Skye Mattox, Timothy McDevitt, Harris Milgrim, Bethany Moore, Mary Page Nance, Robert Roby, Kathy Voytko, Sumi Yu, and Ricardo Zayas.

Call Me Madam features a book by Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse, which centers around a brassy ambassador to the fictional European nation of Lichtenberg, and a score by Irving Berlin, including such standards as "It's a Lovely Day Today," "Something to Dance About," and "You're Just in Love."

The Encores! production is directed by Casey Hushio and choreographed by Denis Jones, whilst the Encores! Orchestra is directed by Rob Berman.

The 2019 Encores! Season continues with I Married an Angel from March 20 to 24 and High Button Shoes from May 8 to 12, 2019.
