All rise! Two new actors will step into the leading roles of Aaron Sorkin's To Kill a Mockingbird stage adaptation from January 5. Baize Buzan will take over the role of Scout Finch from original cast member Celia Keenan-Bolger, who won a Tony Award for the role, and Academy Award nominee Greg Kinnear will replace Tony nominee Jeff Daniels as Atticus Finch as previously announced.

Buzan made her Broadway debut in 2018 in the original cast of To Kill a Mockingbird, when she was an ensemble member and the understudy for Scout. Kinnear, a film actor known for As Good as It Gets, You've Got Mail, Little Miss Sunshine, and more, is now making his Broadway debut in the role of Atticus.

To Kill a Mockingbird is based on Harper Lee's novel of the same name, narrated by a six-year-old Scout. Her father, Atticus, is a lawyer who is representing an innocent Black man in a rape trial in pre-Civil Rights Alabama. With the trial as the centerpiece of this story about the loss of innocence, Scout recalls memories of her father leading up to the trial, and the hatred her family received from their neighbors during and after it.

The show, directed by Bartlett Sher, opened on Broadway in 2018 to rave reviews, with the New York Theatre Guide review reading, "Sorkin and his director Bartlett Sher stage it primarily as a scorching courtroom drama, folding it seamlessly with scenes from [Atticus] Finch's home life as his two worlds collide."
