Alison Luff will star as Jenna in Waitress on Broadway

Luff is scheduled to begin performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on July 23, 2019, as Shoshana Bean extends her limited engagement as Jenna through July 21.

Broadway favorite Alison Luff is set to return to the Great White Way and will be "Opening Up" as Jenna in the hit musical Waitress at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre from July 23, 2019. Current star Shoshana Bean has extended her limited engagement in the leading role for an extra two weeks and will now depart the Broadway production on July 21.

Ms. Luff last appeared on the Broadway stage last spring as Rachel in the Broadway premiere of Jimmy Buffett's Escape to Margaritaville. Her other Broadway credits include Les MisérablesMatilda The MusicalScandalousGhost The Musical, and Mamma Mia!

The current principal cast of Waitress includes Shoshana Bean (as Jenna), Erich Bergen (as Dr. Pomatter), Charity Angél Dawson​ (as Becky), Caitlin Houlahan (as Dawn), Ben Thompson (as Earl), Tony Award nominee Larry Marshall (as Old Joe), Benny Elledge (as Cal), and Noah Galvin (as Ogie).

As previously reported, YouTube sensation Colleen Ballinger, best known for "Miranda Sings," will officially make her Broadway debut as Dawn and "Ru Paul's Drag Race" favorite Todrick Hall will return to the Broadway stage as Ogie for a four-week limited engagement from August 20 through September 15, 2019.

Waitress officially opened on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 24, 2016, following previews from March 25.

Waitress is the first Broadway musical in history to have four women in the four top creative team spots, with a book by Jessie Nelson, a score by seven-time Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, choreography by Lorin Latarro and direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus.

Synopsis: "Based on the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, the musical follows Jenna - a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. Faced with an unexpected pregnancy, Jenna fears she may have to abandon the dream of opening her own pie shop forever... until a baking contest in a nearby county and the town's handsome new doctor offer her a tempting recipe for happiness. Supported by her quirky crew of fellow waitresses and loyal customers, Jenna summons the secret ingredient she's been missing all along - courage."

The creative team features scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting design by Christopher Akerlind and sound design by Jonathan Deans.

Waitress is produced on Broadway by Barry & Fran Weissler and Norton & Elayne Herrick.

Waitress Tickets are available now for performances through December 15, 2019.
