A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway will air on NBC

Hopefully the ratings will defy gravity and soar on Monday, October 29 when "A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway" airs on NBC from 10pm ET/PT. The original stars of the global phenomenon that is Wicked - Tony Award winners Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth - are set to reunite and host the national broadcast for the show's 15th Anniversary, performing alongside the current Broadway company and special guest stars such as four-time Grammy Award nominee Ariana Grande and three-time Grammy Award winners Pentatonix

A Very Wicked Halloween will be directed by Glenn Weiss, produced by Marc Platt and White Cherry Entertainment and filmed at Broadway's Marquis Theatre.

The Broadway musical Wicked officially opened at the Gershwin Theatre on October 30, 2003, following previews from October 8.

Wicked features music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, and is based on the popular novel by Gregory Maguire.

Synopsis: "The Broadway sensation Wicked looks at what happened in the Land of Oz...but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships...until the world decides to call one "good," and the other one "wicked.""

The current principal cast of Wicked includes Jessica Vosk (as Elphaba), Amanda Jane Cooper (as Glinda), Ryan McCartan (as Fiyero), Tony Award nominee Isabel Keating (as Madame Morrible), three-time Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin (as The Wizard), Jye Frasca (as Boq), Kristen Martin (as Nessarose), and Martin Moran (as Dr. Dillamond).

The Broadway production is directed by Joe Mantello, with choreography by James Lynn Abbott, and features scene design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Tony Meola.

Wicked is produced on Broadway by Universal Stage Productions, Marc Platt, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone.

Wicked Tickets are available now for performances through to May 12, 2019.
