The Performers: Alicia Silverstone joins cast

Alicia Silverstone completes the cast for the Broadway premiere of David West Read's new comedy The Performers, directed by Evan Cabnet, opening at Broadway's Longacre Theatre on 14 Nov 2012, following previews from 23 Oct 2012.

Silverstone has previously starred on Broadway in 'Time Stands Still' and 'The Graduate.' She is best known for her roles in Hollywood films such as "Clueless" and her portrayal of "Batgirl" in "Batman & Robin." She will appear in the upcoming films "Butter" and "Vamps." Her TV credits include "Suburgatory," "Miss Match" and "Braceface."

As previously reported, the cast will also feature Cheyenne Jackson, Henry Winkler, Ari Graynor, Daniel Breaker and Jenni Barber.

The Performers is a romantic comedy about two high school friends (Cheyenne Jackson and Daniel Breaker) - and the women in their lives (Ari Graynor and an actress to be announced) who reconnect at the Adult Film Awards in Las Vegas. When the night takes an unexpected turn and relationships are threatened, Chuck Wood (Henry Winkler), the hardest-working man in the business, steps in to lend a hand.

The creative team features set design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, costume design by Jessica Wegener Shay and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

The show is being produced on Broadway by Robyn Goodman, Scott M. Delman and Amanda Lipitz.
