The Adrien Brody and Tessa Thompson-led play The Fear of 13 on Broadway will end its Broadway engagement two weeks earlier than planned. Originally set to run at the James Earl Jones Theatre through July 12, it will now play its final performance June 28, per listings on the show's website and primary ticketing platforms.
The Fear of 13 stars Brody as Nick Yarris, a real-life writer who spent over 20 years on death row for a crime he didn't commit. Thompson plays Jacki, a prison volunteer who developed a relationship with Nick and played a pivotal role in his historic exoneration by DNA evidence.
Lindsey Ferrentino's play is adapted from Yarris's memoir and David Sington's documentary of the same name. David Cromer directs the Broadway production, which transferred from an acclaimed London premiere also starring Brody. Both he and Thompson make their Broadway debuts with the show.
The Broadway cast also includes Jeb Kreager as Man 2, Victor Cruz as Man 3, Tony Award nominee Ephraim Sykes as Man 4, Michael Cavinder as Man 5, Eddie Cooper as Man 6, and Joel Marsh Garland as Guard.
