Here's your first look at Duke & Roya off Broadway! Jay Ellis, Stephanie Nur, Noma Dumezweni, and Dariush Kashani star in Charles Randolph-Wright's romantic play with music, now at the Lucille Lortel Theatre through August 24.
Ellis and Nur play the title characters, American hip-hop star Duke and Afghan interpreter Roya. They meet in war-torn Kabul, where Duke is sent with the USO, and navigate a romance that challenges their beliefs, puts their safety at risk, and redefines their identities. Kashani and Dumezweni star as Roya's father and Duke's mother, respectively.
