
Robyn Hurder to join 'Chicago' Broadway cast
The Tony Award-nominated actress will play the role of Velma Kelly for a limited 12-week engagement at the Ambassador Theatre beginning on March 26.

Welcome to Murderer's Row! Robyn Hurder will join the cast of Chicago on Broadway this month, performing at the Ambassador Theatre from March 26 to June 16 only.
Hurder is a Tony Award nominee known for her recent performances as Nini in Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Marcia Murphey in A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical. Earlier this year, she starred as Ivy Lynn in a workshop of the Broadway-bound musical adaptation of the TV show Smash.
Now, Hurder will star as Velma Kelly in Chicago, taking over the role from Amra-Faye Wright. She joins current cast members Ariana Madix as Roxie Hart (through April 7 only), Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, Lili Thomas as Matron “Mama” Morton, Red Concepción as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
The longest-running musical currently on Broadway, Kander and Ebb's Chicago centers on Roxie and Velma, two vaudevillians-turned-murderesses who compete for the attention of a skilled lawyer and the sympathy of the press to get acquitted.
