Red Roses, Green Gold to play Minetta Lane Theatre

MWM Live presents a new musical featuring the music and lyrics of Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter called Red Roses, Green Gold, directed and choreographed by Rachel Klein, which will begin previews on October 11, 2017 at the Minetta Lane Theatre, ahead of an official opening on October 29.

The musical also features a book by Michael Norman Mann, as well as additional music & lyrics by Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, and Greg Anton. Musical supervision and arrangements are by Jeff Chimenti, with music direction by Andy Peterson.

Synopsis: "Red Roses, Green Gold, set in 1920s Maryland, tells the fantastical and comedic tale of Jackson Jones and his family of swindlers as they gamble their way to love and riches."

The cast of eight actor-musicians includes Brian Russell Carey (as Dudley), Maggie Hollinbeck (as Glendine), David Park (as Liam), Michael McCoy Reilly (as Jessup),Natalie Storrs (as Melinda), Debbie Christine Tjong (as Bertha), Michael Viruet (as Mick), and Scott Wakefield (as Jack).

The creative team behind Red Roses, Green Gold features scenic design by Robert Andrew Kovach, costume design by Ásta Bennie Hostetter, lighting design by Jamie Roderick, sound design by M. Florian Staab, and projection design by Brad Peterson.
