Mr & Mrs Fitch has been postponed from Second Stage Theatre's season

Due to a scheduling conflict with Director Scott Ellis, Douglas Carter Beane's new comedy, Mr. & Mrs. Fitch, has been postponed from Second Stage Theatre's season, announced Artistic Director Carole Rothman. A new mainstage summer production will be announced shortly. Mr. and Mrs. Fitch had been scheduled to begin previews on June 16.

Ellis, who staged Beane's Tony nominated play 'The Little Dog Laughed' at Second Stage Theatre as well as on Broadway, was recently named Supervising Producer/Director of the Showtime series 'Weeds' and is no longer available to stage the world premiere this summer. He does, however, remain attached to the production.

Second Stage's acclaimed production of Gina Gionfriddo's 'Becky Shaw' concludes its run on 15 Mar 2009, and its next production, 'Everyday Rapture,' written by Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott and directed by Michael Mayer, begins preview performances on 7 Apr 2009.

Meet gossip columnists Mr. & Mrs. Fitch. When the social circuit no longer provides any scandalous news, they find that great celebrity can appear out of thin air. Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane's ('The Little Dog Laughed,' 'Xanadu') new comedy is a scathing look at who is in, who is out and who may not even exist at all.
