Lone Star Love announces full cast
Lone Star Love, a new musical comedy Randy Quaid in his Broadway debut as Colonel John Falstaff, has announced full casting as it begins rehearsals this week for its Seattle engagement at The 5th Avenue Theatre.
As previously announced, Tony Award nominee Robert Cuccioli and three-time Tony Award nominee Dee Hoty will star as Frank Ford and Margaret Anne Page respectively. They are joined by Lauren Kennedy as Agnes Ford, Ramona Keller as Miss Quickly, Kara Lindsay as Miss Anne Page.
Also in the cast are Clarke Thorell as Fenton, Drew McVety as Doctor Caius, Dan Sharkey as George Page, Nick Sullivan as Sheriff Bob Shallow and Brandon Williams as Abraham Slender, all of which are re-creating the roles they originated in Lone Star Love's Off-Broadway production.
The ensemble includes, Stacey Harris, Amanda Lea LaVergne, Ryan Murray, Monica Patton, Miguel A. Romero, Chad Seib, Jeremy Benton, Anne Horak, Kristie Dale Sanders and Tony Lawson.
Red Clay Ramblers Chris Frank and Jack Herrick head up the on-stage band, which also includes Sam Bardfeld, Gary Bristol, Shannon Ford and Emily Mikesell. The Red Clay Ramblers won a special 1999 Tony Award for 'Fool Moon' which first played on Broadway on 1993.
The musical comedy is inspired by Shakespeare�s The Merry Wives of Windsor transplanted to post-Civil War Texas. Confederate "Colonel" John Falstaff slathers his charms on the wives of two wealthy cattle ranchers, with an eye on their husbands' land and money. But who�s fooling whom?
Lone Star Love, has a book by John L. Haber, adapted from Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor, with music and lyrics by Jack Herrick.
The musical played off-Broadway at the John Houseman Theatre from 8 Dec 2004 - 6 Feb 2005, directed by Michael Bogdanov, and starring Jay O. Sanders as Colonel John Falstaff. The musical has been revised for its up-coming Broadway premiere.
Lone Star Love's creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Ken Billington & Paul Miller (lighting) and Tom Morse (sound).
The musical is being produced on Broadway by Avenue A Productions, Roger Berlind, Robert Boyett Theatricals, Edmund and Eleanor Burke, Rusty and Susan Carter, Jon and Jeanne Cutler, Daisy Theatricals, and Michael Speyer/Bernard Abrams.
Randy Quaid (Colonel John Falstaff) has appeared in over 90 movies, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as Larry Meadows in the film 'The Last Detail' (1973), in 2005 he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his characterisation of 'Colonel' Tom Parker in the TV mini-series 'Elvis' (2005). He was recently seen as Joe Aguirre in the movie "Brokeback Mountain".
Robert Cuccioli (Frank Ford) made his Broadway debut as a replacement 'Javert' in the original Broadway producton of Les Mis�rables. He was nominated for the 1997 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his leading role as 'Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde' in Jekyll & Hyde (1997).
Dee Hoty (Margaret Anne Page) has been nominated for three Tony Awards, all for Best actress in a musical. The first time was for her role as Betty Blakein The Will Rogers Follies (1991), second for playing Mona Stangley in 'The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public' (1994), and the last for her performance as Vi Moore in Footloose (1998).
Lauren Kennedy (Mrs. Ford) was most recently seen on Broadway as 'Lady Of The Lake' in Monty Python's Spamalot. Her other Broadway credits include: Side Show , Side Show (2002 - replacement Daisy Hilton), Sunset Boulevard (1994) and and Les Miserables (1987 - replacement Fantine).
Clarke Thorell (Fenton) was last seen on BRoadway playing 'Corny Collins' in Hairspray (2002). His other Broadwat credits include: Titanic (1997) and The Who's Tommy (1993 - replacement).
Ramona Keller (Miss Quickly), originated 'The Radio' in Caroline, Or Change (2004), and played 'Paradice' in Brooklyn (2004) Keller revived her role as 'The Radio' in Caroline, Or Change in London at the Royal National Theater (2006).
Drew McVety (Doctor Caius). Broadway credits include: The Heidi Chronicles (1989), and Big River (2003). He has understudied in Titanic (1997), Frozen (2004) and Spamalot.
Dan Sharkey (Mr. Page) made his Broadway debut in The Music Man (2000).
Kara Lindsay (Miss Anne Page) is making her Broadway debut!
Nick Sullivan (Sheriff Bob Shallow) made his Broadway debut in Footloose (1998), he has understudied in The Moli�re Comedies (1995) and White Liars & Black Comedy (1993).
Brandon Williams (Abraham Slender) is making his Broadway debut.
