Kate Berlant's solo show 'Kate' to return off Broadway in December
Bo Burnham directs the acclaimed production.
Berlant is back! Kate Berlant will perform a return engagement of her acclaimed solo show, Kate, off Broadway this winter, following its sold-out premiere run earlier this year. Kate will once again run at the Connelly Theater for eight weeks, from December 18 to February 10.
In Kate, a solo comedy show, Berlant discusses her love-hate relationship with both theatre and camera acting and key moments in her life, from her childhood to now, that shaped her career, her performance style, and her sense of self. A four-star Kate review on New York Theatre Guide reads, "[Berlant] reminds us that excellent theatre needs only three simple things: a great performer, a clean stage, and a little bit of magic (this point is punctuated with a handful of glitter). Kate delivers."
Berlant is known for her onscreen roles in A League of Their Own, Search Party, and more, and she has performed comedy on stage internationally. The premiere run of Kate, which ran from August to October, marked her first New York stage performance in 10 years.
Directing Kate again is Bo Burnham, the performer and writer known for writing and performing the three-time Emmy Award winning comedy special Inside, writing and directing the film Eighth Grade, and performing in films including Promising Young Woman.
