Jordan Donica will star as Max Von Mayerling in Jamie Lloyd's production of Sunset Boulevard on Broadway. He takes over from Olivier Award winner David Thaxton, who has played the role since its West End run.

Joining the production from June 10, Donica has also starred in My Fair Lady and The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, and was last seen as Lancelot in Camelot, which earned him a Tony nomination.

Sunset Boulevard also stars Tony Award nominee Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond, Tony Award nominee Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, and Olivier Award nominee Grace Hodgett Young as Betty Schaefer.

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical is based on the classic film directed by Billy Wilder, and follows fading film star Norma Desmond, who lives in a decaying mansion on Sunset Boulevard. When she meets struggling screenwriter Joe Gillis, their relationship leads to disastrous consequences.

The creative team for Sunset Boulevard includes Soutra Gilmour (set and costume design), Fabian Aloise (choreography), Alan Williams (music supervisor and music director), Jack Knowles (lighting design), Adam Fisher (sound design), Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom (video design and cinematography), Cheryl Thomas (hair and makeup design), and Ann James (intimacy coordinator).
