In Into the Woods, Kalukango replaces Patina Miller and Montego Glover, who currently share the role of The Witch. The current cast also includes Stephanie J. Block as the Baker’s Wife, Brian d’Arcy James as the Baker, Gavin Creel as the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince, Andy Karl as Rapunzel’s Prince, Krysta Rodriguez as Cinderella, Katy Geraghty as Little Red Ridinghood, Jim Stanek as the Steward, Ann Harada as Jack’s Mother, Cole Thompson as Jack, and Alysia Velez as Rapunzel.
As previously announced, other upcoming cast changes include Joshua Henry returning as Rapunzel's Prince beginning on November 25, and Denee Benton returning as Cinderella beginning November 21.
Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods mashes up the stories of beloved fairytale characters like Cinderella, Little Red Ridinghood, and more, as they all journey into the woods and discover that happily ever after isn't all it's cracked up to be.
The show's original production won three Tony Awards, including Best Original Score. A five-star New York Theatre Guide review calls this revival "bewitchingly beautiful and impeccably performed."
