Initial casting for the Broadway revival of Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out has been confirmed, with the majority of the company returning from their previously scheduled spring 2020 engagement. Take Me Out begins previews at the Hayes Theater from Mar. 9, 2022, with an official opening on Apr. 4, 2022.

Jesse Williams will make his Broadway debut in Take Me Out, playing the role of Darren Lemming. Williams is best known for playing Dr. Jackson Avery in Grey's Anatomy, and has also produced the Oscar-winning short film Two Distant Strangers.

Williams is joined by Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Ferguson is best known for playing Mitchell Pritchett in Modern Family. On stage, Ferguson has been in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Little Fish, both at Second Stage Theatre.

Best known for playing Mike Ross in Suits, Patrick J. Adams will also make his Broadway debut in Take Me Out. The cast includes Julian Cihi, Hiram Delgado, Carl Lundstedt, Ken Marks, Michael Oberholtzer, Eduardo Ramos and Tyler Lansing Weaks, with the role of Davey Battle to be cast.

Take Me Out is a play that follows Darren Lemming, a baseball player who is faced with a hostile reception when he comes out. Being a gay person of color proves difficult for Darren, with fans and teammates questioning their views. Take Me Out made its Broadway debut in 2003, winning three Tony Awards including best play.

Scott Ellis directs Take Me Out, with scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Linda Cho, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman.

Take Me Out is part of Second Stage Theatre's reopening season. In the fall, audiences can see Lynn Nottage's Clyde's, with Clyde's tickets on sale now.

Take Me Out is at the Hayes Theater from Mar. 9, 2022.
