UPDATE: Chip Zien will star as Rabbi in Harmony, reprising his critically acclaimed role from the musical's Off-Broadway premiere in 2022.

This is music to our ears! Initial casting has been announced for the Broadway transfer of Harmony, the Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman musical that debuted off Broadway last year.

Six cast members from that production will reprise their leading roles, including Sean Bell as Bobby, Danny Kornfeld as Young Rabbi, Zal Owen as Harry, Eric Peters as Erich, Blake Roman as Chopin, and Steven Telsey as Lesh. All but Owen will make their Broadway debuts with the production.

In Harmony, the sextet plays the Comedian Harmonists, a German-Jewish singing group whose career peaked in the 1920s and '30s. The musical comedy shows how this ragtag band of boys found international success with their singing and hilarious onstage antics, but it also shows how the rise of the Nazi regime turned their lives and careers upside down. A four-star Harmony review on New York Theatre Guide reads, "Harmony hits all the right notes."

Broadway performances begin at the Barrymore Theatre on October 18, with opening night on November 13. Additional Harmony casting will be announced at a later date.
